The List

Here is a list of Free Directory Inclusions
"A few hundred bucks and a couple hours of work will bring you a substantial amount of traffic and, of equal importance, will dramatically improve your link popularity and Google Page Rank. If you consider the submission fees in light of your per-click-budget, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that it won't take long for paid submission directories to send you enough traffic to get your cost-per-click to below your per-click budget. Then, simply consider all the traffic that comes after that as free! Remember, most of the directory submissions you make are free anyway. Submitting your website to all the important web directories is a bedrock foundational piece of good website promotion." Storesonline merchant services advice.

Here's the real deal. You can loose your life's saving trying to include your website in all of these Directories, so be careful and it is far more than a couple of hours of work. It is weeks of work on a daily basis. So hunker down and get ready for the long haul. I keep telling myself - Three years of daily articles, submissons and forums and hopefully I can drum up enough business to make a decent living. Until then...submit, submit, submit.

7 Keys to Succeeding Online

  1. Optimise your site - done
  2. Submit to every Search Engine possible. I will try to come up with a free list soon- Ongoing now.
  3. Write articles and submit, submit, submit. Get your name out there.
  4. Create a blog. - Doing it!
  5. Join a link exchange
  6. Create an Affliliate program - I am in the midst of researching this.
  7. Develop a budget for a PPC (Pay per click) campaign.

I will expand on this list as we go.

As I understand it, this is a daily routine that should be kept up for a minimum of three years. Again, I figure at least 5 years for a Retail location so... three years is cake.

Key to success...Research

I remember once in a class, the instructor asked us to think of a rose. Next she asked us to respond with the first thought that came to our minds. Half the class responded with the colour, some responded with the texture of the petals or thorns. I was the only one that responded scent. Her point was that some of us respond by vision, auditory, or by tactile means. MY point is that there is some truth to the aromatherapy boom. From calming Lavender to Spicy Citrus or happy floral scents, each one contributes to different senses and emotions. She was not sure what to do with the idea of scent motivated responses. I did, I turned it into a business and created koku

For some of us, using Shea butter in solid form can be irritating and time consuming. First, you have to get a chunk and wait for it to melt in your hand. Depending on where you got your supply, it can be hard to spread. Don’t get me wrong, I still believe that there is nothing in the world better than unrefined, unscented shea butter for cracked heals, lip balm and moisturizing your skin. A little bit of girlyness and light scent added can turn your daily chore into a pleasure. Nothing like a yummy-delish scent to pick you up in the morning, or a sexy soft aroma to set the mood in the evening. Essential oils like Tea Tree and Eucalyptus have distinct aromas as well as contribute to cleansing and healing the skin. Fragrant floral scents or sweet scents that smell edible are perfect for pick me ups or calming. A better marriage of two products has never been made. The best of both worlds. Healing AND indulgent.

The use of essential oils and fragrance oils is a remarkable way to improve on what is already one of the best natural skin care products.

Luckily for me, I love creating in the kitchen. I love the mixing and experimenting. It’s not really about your passion or dealing in a product that you love or believe in. It helps but it’s not really necessary. This is about research. There are so many ways to make money on the Internet. Blogs, Service, advertising, search engines, SEO, eBay, e-commerce and the list goes one. I chose selling a product.

The way to begin, for me, was to brainstorm. Focus on interests or hobbies. Write anything down, no matter how outrageous. The idea is to come up with as many ideas as possible. Ask
friends and families. Develop a list of at least 20 ideas.

Next, use a Reverse Search Tool. Try http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/
By using this one you can get an idea how many times in the month a keyword was researched. This site represents about one quarter of the total searches. Multiply by 4 to give you an idea of the whole Internet searches. It should give you a general idea of demand for the service or product. Take your time and research thoroughly.

Third - more research. Check out your competitors. Use Google, Yahoo, MSN to find your competition. Check out their websites. Check their ranking with Alexa.com. Learn what their keywords are. Check their meta tags. As you scrutinize the competition, check off the ideas that don’t hold water. Focus on the good ideas. Keep reading and developing. The great thing about the Internet is you don’t have to focus on one idea. You can set up more than one site or product idea.

Next - finding your supplier…
